Pharmacy Lock-In‑Program Provider Information
Effective July 1, 2026
Program Overview
Alliant Health Plans is implementing a Pharmacy Lock-In‑ Program on July 1, 2026 to support appropriate medication use, improve patient safety, and reduce risks of medication misuse, abuse, and over‑utilization.
How the Program Works
Certain members will be assigned to one designated pharmacy where they must fill all prescriptions covered under their pharmacy benefit during their lock-‑in period.
The lock-in‑ pharmacy will coordinate closely with prescribers to support safe medication management.
Member Identification
The Alliant Pharmacy Team and our pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) will review prescription claims using standardized criteria to identify members who may benefit from additional oversight.
This process is designed to:
- Prevent medication duplication or overuse
- Detect potential safety risks
- Support coordinated patient care
Provider Notification
If you are selected, you will receive a letter at least 30 days before your participation begins.
Your letter will clearly state:
- Lock-‑in start date
- Assigned pharmacy
- Lock-in‑ duration
- Member appeal rights
Provider Expectations
If enrolled, fill all your prescriptions at the pharmacy listed in your letter. Your doctor will send prescriptions directly to that pharmacy.
If you have concerns or unique needs, please contact the Pharmacy Lock-In Team for support.
