Founded in 2009 in response to the salmonella outbreak that temporarily shelled Early County’s peanut industry, the Peanut Proud Festival is more than just a celebration—it’s a mission to reignite pride in the peanut industry, honor Blakely’s resilience and heritage, and proudly showcase the community’s vital role in the heart of the peanut belt. Thousands shell out at Blakely’s historic Court Square every year to enjoy the one-of-a-kind peanut butter obstacle course, live music, delicious food, and family-friendly fun that’s smooth, chunky, and everything in between. Whether by local farmers or businesses, attendees are invited to join the warm, neighborly atmosphere that is Blakely!
